Your “well known facts” are urban legends. Canada does have longer wait times, but not nearly to the extent that is claimed though it is a problem in Canada (and many parts of the US). As for American’s buying drugs from Canada, just because its illegal doesn’t mean statistics aren’t kept on it, obviously, its just the methodology of collecting this information that changes.(Rather than point of sale data gather, it may take the form of a scientific poll instead)
If the government care about us they world take care of its citizen has standard pratice and not force any rights but choice on the citizen. Laws reduce choices and increace force mentailty.
Why not spend a few billion dollars toward creating jobs!! Offer monetary incentives to small business so that that basically government funds their health insurance!!
The Canukes are flocking to the USA on their own because it takes them months just to get a doctors appointment. This is a well known fact and accounts for the pletherra of doctors in border towns. Americans buying drugs from Canada is against federal laws in both countries so any “statistics” you have with that are either bogus or from 10 years ago.
That is to say, the Canadian government will on occasion refer (and sometimes pay) for their citizens to go to particular US doctors/clinics/hospitals when there is actually a point to it, or Canadian doctors will recommend it for certain cosmetic procedures not covered by Canada’s government (if the person has insurance or will pay themselves in the US). The statistics indicate more Americans going to Canada for prescription drugs than Canadians going to the US for treatment actually.
The governments of the United States and Canada to be specific, who keep and publicly release information like this on a regular basis… as for Canadians “flocking” down to the United States because our system is just the best in the world… only 1 in 200 Canadians who need a medical procedure come to the US, and of them, only 1 in 4 actually left Canada and came to the US because they thought our system would provide higher quality care, in many other cases they were referred to US doctors
Here are some facts.
Life Expectancy is higher in Canada
Infant Mortality is lower
Number of doctors and nurses per capita is ever so slightly higher in the US, but only by a hair!
Healthcare costs about half as much per person compared to US healthcare, everyone has it, the expenditures as part of GDP and as part of government revenue are lower per person for healthcare than in the US which I find stunning, given that means we could have universal healthcare for less than the gov. pays now…
It’s just logical that forcing small businesses to pay new taxes and forcing them to buy health insurance for employees that they weren’t previously covering on top of the added costs of determining what the new regulations are and paying someone to insure the business is in compliance will break many small businesses. Those that manage to comply with the new federal burdens will be less likely to add to their workforce due to the new costs.
Oh really? Then tell me why the average wait in an emergancy room for someone without insurance in the USA is 1/5th the average wait for anyone in an emergancy room in Canada. Dude get your facts straight.
The CBO was WAY off in their prediction of the cost of all of these programs and thus they are probably wrong about health care. Now go eat your turkey and thank God you aren’t in Canada and need a doctor.
As for healthcare, I would have absolutely no qualms what so ever with Canada’s healthcare system, its excellent as far as I’m concerned, and that is from someone who has healthcare that I pay for privately and out of pocket, but grew up not having insurance and know whats worse, no healthcare or Canadian healthcare, cause thats the choice facing a double digit % of our population. We pay more per person than any other country, and our system ranks in the thirties for best healthcare nations.
Medicare has largely been a success and most Americans support it overwhelmingly, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac failed along with and in partnership with the entire financial industry through nothing Congress put in motion (Sub-Prime lending guidelines the Bush Administration put in place in the early 90’s) but rather because inappropriate high risk investment strategies that were voluntary and industry wide. None of this has a thing to do with the CBO though one way or the other.
LOL The CBO was just so right about Medicare, Fanyy May, Freddy Mac, etc… that we should believe them this time huh? Dude go try health care in Canada.
He won’t allow terrorists into jail as well? You mean he obeys the Constitution as all Americans who are not subhuman shit do? Also “socialism” is not unconstitutional, before you throw that out there. Obama is looking out for the best interests of the country, and the only people who would be fined, and what appears to be a fairly small amount ($750 a year in senate bill) for REFUSING (not being unable) to pay for their own healthcare because this puts a drain on all of society, and raises cost
That is ridiculous… who will “have” to use “Obama Crap Care”?? His bill helps break up the monopolistic and oligopolistic practices of the healthcare industry, which makes the entire system more efficient and accessible. No one has to use the public option, except those who can’t afford any insurance and are just dying now, and if it ever did become a socialist program, those “elitists” would have to use it too. Intellectuals aren’t “drones” and that is asinine on so many levels to even say.
Obama wants to correct the market failures in healthcare so that we can provide healthcare to all Americans as all civilized nations do. It will not raise the deficit, the CBO has established this, and they are completely neutral and professional. This will also not destroy the healthcare industry, it will make it competitive and eliminate the current oligopoly that is artificially inflating prices and causing inefficiency above any state sponsored system on earth.
The only sector of the economy producing jobs is healthcare. Ask yourself why Obama wants to destroy it and run up the Federal deficit at the same time.

If Congress would just go ahead and pass universal healthcare, that way small business would not have to worry about insuring their employees!!

LOL where did you get those “facts” Obama’s Pravda? If any of that were true the Canukes wouldn’t be flocking here in droves to use our system.
